Srinagar/New Delhi, 24 October, 2024: A laborer from Uttar Pradesh was shot and injured by terrorists Thursday morning in the Tral area of Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

The victim, Shubam Kumar, a resident of Bijnore, was struck in the arm when assailants opened fire in Batagund village, according to authorities.

Kumar was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment, officials confirmed. His condition remains unknown at this time.

This marks the third attack on non-local laborers in Kashmir within the past week. Just days earlier, on Sunday, six non-local laborers and a local doctor were killed in a terror attack at a construction site in Ganderbal district. Also, on October 18, a laborer from Bihar was shot dead by terrorists in Shopian district.

The recent surge in violence has raised concerns over the safety of non-locals working in the region as officials continue to investigate the incidents.
