Indore, 8 Devember 2024: Bajrang Dal members staged protests in Indore ahead of Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s scheduled concert today, opposing the event on cultural and moral grounds.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) member Yash Bachani stated that the group was particularly concerned about the serving of liquor and meat during the concert.

“We have received information that open liquor and meat would be served at the event. We came here to inspect and ensure proper arrangements for women’s safety by the police administration,” Bachani said.

He added that the group would remain vigilant against incidents of “Love Jihad” and may escalate protests if their concerns are not addressed.

Chanting slogans such as “Jai Jai Shri Ram” and “Desh ka Bal, Bajrang Dal,” the protesters warned of further action. “This was Bajrang Dal’s trailer today. We will show the whole film tomorrow,” said one of the demonstrators.

The protest follows a similar controversy in Pune, where the state excise department recently canceled the permit to serve liquor at a concert by Dosanjh.
