Abohar, 20 January 2025: A 26-year-old HDFC Bank cashier in Abohar allegedly took his own life early Sunday, hanging himself in the bathroom of his house near the bus stand.
Police have identified the deceased as Gurvinder Monga, son of Mahinder Singh.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. when Monga’s father noticed the bathroom door was locked from inside.
After receiving no response, he broke the door and discovered his son hanging from the ceiling fan.
Authorities, alerted via the 112 helpline, arrived promptly.
Personnel Amrik Singh and Pappu Ram retrieved the body and recorded statements from the family.
Preliminary reports suggest mental stress may have been a factor, though the exact cause remains under investigation.
The body has been sent to the hospital morgue, and police continue their inquiry into the incident.
