BJP’s Delhi Win Setback for Himachal Congress: Jai Ram Thakur

by The_unmuteenglish

SHIMLA, 8 February 2025—Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday said the BJP’s victory in the Delhi Assembly elections has created challenges for the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh.

He congratulated the party for its win, asserting that the outcome in the national capital had made the “road difficult” for the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led administration.

Thakur also took aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying he is frustrated by repeated election losses and is now making unfounded allegations against electronic voting machines (EVMs) and the Election Commission.

Addressing reporters, the former chief minister credited the BJP’s central leadership for the victory and criticized AAP’s governance in Delhi.

“It is unfortunate that a party that emerged to fight corruption has itself been consumed by it,” he said.

“I congratulate the people of Delhi for getting rid of the ‘AAP-da (disaster).’”
