New Delhi, April 15: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class 10 board examination results on Wednesday, reporting an overall pass percentage of 93.70 per cent. This year’s performance reflects a marginal improvement over the previous academic cycle, as students across the country accessed their scores via the official portal, DigiLocker, and the UMANG application.

According to official data, a total of 25,08,319 students appeared for the examinations, which were conducted between February 17 and March 11 across 8,075 centres. The gender-wise breakdown showed that girls once again outshined their male counterparts, recording a pass percentage of 94.99 per cent compared to 92.6 per cent for boys.

“The results can be accessed through the UMANG app,” the board stated, noting that the digital platforms were prepared to handle high traffic volumes. While the board has moved away from publishing an official national merit list to reduce academic pressure, officials affirmed that over 2.20 lakh candidates secured more than 90 per cent, with 55,000 students crossing the 95 per cent threshold.

For those who did not meet the passing criteria in all subjects, the board has placed approximately 1.47 lakh candidates in the compartment category. These students, along with those seeking to improve their grades, will have the opportunity to appear for the second board examination session.

The board clarified that the new two-exam system allows for greater flexibility. “Students who wish to improve their performance can appear in up to three subjects in the May session,” officials affirmed. The upcoming schedule for these supplementary and improvement assessments is expected to be released shortly on the official CBSE website.
