Shimala, 18 October, 2024: The Centre has allocated ₹21.05 crore for two road projects in the Mandi district, as announced by Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Vikramaditya Singh during a media interaction at Rajiv Bhawan, Shimla, coinciding with his birthday celebrations.

“The central government has released funds totaling ₹21.05 crore for alternative routes leading to Pandoh,” he stated.

A letter from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) confirmed that the competent authority approved ₹9.16 crore for the maintenance and restoration of the Chailchowk-Gohar-Pandoh road, which serves as an alternate route when the Mandi-Pandoh NH is closed. Additionally, ₹11.89 crore has been earmarked for the Mandi-Kamamand-Kataula-Bajaura alternate route, utilized during closures of the Pandoh-Takoli NH.

Vikramaditya stressed, “We are committed to the holistic development of the state, prioritizing state interests above party politics, even while seeking assistance from the central government.”

He also congratulated Nayab Singh Saini on his re-election as Chief Minister of Haryana. “With the new government formed in Haryana and Nayab Singh Saini taking office as Chief Minister, I extend my best wishes to him. Regarding the internal issues of Himachal and Haryana, as well as some inter-state matters, I believe our respected Chief Minister and his Haryana counterpart will play a proactive role in the coming times,” he added.

On the electoral outcomes in Haryana, Vikramaditya remarked, “The results in Haryana did not align with the expectations of the party [Congress], which the high command and the Haryana Congress are deliberating upon.”
