Coimbatore, 1 December 2024 – A postgraduate medical student at Coimbatore Medical College, identified as Dr. Venkatesh, has been arrested for allegedly placing a pen camera in a washroom used by male and female doctors.
The incident came to light when a woman doctor discovered the device and raised an alarm, leading to police confirmation. Authorities recovered the camera and its memory card during the investigation.
Dr. Venkatesh, 33, has been charged under the IT Act and Bharat Nyay Sanhita for violating privacy and breaching trust. Further investigations are underway to determine the extent of the misconduct.
