Chandigarh, 30 October 2024: In a major development, the court has issued an interim order in favor of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Rajbir Singh, restraining Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia from making defamatory remarks against him.

The court rebuked Majithia, stating that his statements have harmed Rajbir Singh’s reputation and instructing him to cease making such comments in public immediately.

This legal action follows a defamation case filed by Rajbir Singh after he issued a legal notice to Majithia, demanding a written apology within 48 hours for allegedly false and damaging allegations.

The dispute began when Majithia made remarks at a press conference suggesting improprieties involving close associates in the Chief Minister’s Office, leading Rajbir Singh to accuse Majithia of image tarnishing.
