The bowlers were expensive against RCB
Rajasthan Royals had to face defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the match played in Jaipur. Rajasthan batted slowly in this match and apart from Yashasvi Jaiswal, no other batsman could play a big innings. At the same time, the performance of the bowlers was also disappointing and the RCB batsmen, especially Phil Salt, scored a lot of runs against Joffra Archer and other bowlers.
Karun shone as an impact player
Delhi’s Karun Nair made his debut against Mumbai Indians and scored 89 runs in 40 balls. He came in that match as an impact player and with the help of his fast innings, at one time Delhi’s score was 119 runs for one wicket in the 11th over, but the team then lost the last nine wickets within 74 runs. Its three batsmen were run out on the last three balls of the 19th over and it had to face defeat by 12 runs. After Karun Nair’s excellent innings, it will be interesting to see whether Delhi will give him a chance in the playing-11 or he will be used as an impact player only.
Spinners will play an important role
Spinners can once again prove to be the key to success for Delhi. Despite the defeat in the last match, Kuldeep Yadav and 20-year-old Vipraaj Nigam performed brilliantly. However, Akshar has not been able to impress as much and has not got a wicket even after bowling 14 overs in six matches. Apart from this, he has given runs at the rate of more than 10 per over.
