Yamunanagar, July 11: An international manhunt concluded at the Indira Gandhi International Airport when a suspect wanted in connection with a massive extortion plot was arrested immediately upon his deportation from the United States. The individual had been evading law enforcement for approximately a year and a half following a targeted threat against a local businessman.

“Our team acted swiftly on precise intelligence regarding the suspect’s arrival timeline,” affirmed Vinod Kumar, SHO of the Vyaspur police station. “Upon processing his deportation papers at the terminal, we immediately took him into custody and recovered his passport, American currency, and multiple banking cards.”

The investigation began after a prominent commission agent from the Vyaspur grain market filed a formal complaint detailing a high-stakes extortion attempt. The victim reported receiving a chilling phone call wherein the caller claimed ties to the notorious Goldy Brar gang and demanded a payout of one crore rupees under threat of violence.

Prior to this major arrest, local investigators had already intercepted several co-conspirators tied to the operation, including individuals identified as Harpreet, Gurpreet Singh, and Dipesh Sharma. During those initial raids, police seized a getaway vehicle, motorcycles, and numerous mobile devices used to coordinate the crime.

The principal accused was presented before a judicial magistrate in Jagadhri, where transport logs and initial evidence were placed on the record.

“The court has granted us a three-day police remand to thoroughly interrogate the suspect,” declared the investigating officer. “We are now focusing on uncovering the broader network of this extortion racket and establishing any deeper links to organized criminal syndicates.”
