Khanauri border, 16 December 2024: Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, on a 20-day fast to death at the Khanauri border, has refused food, water, and medical treatment, leaving his condition critical. Despite his refusal, a team of doctors continues to monitor his health.

Addressing farmers today, Dallewal criticized government claims about Minimum Support Price (MSP).

He stated that wheat prices increased by only ₹825 during the Modi government’s tenure, while input costs rose by 56.5%.

Dallewal questioned the Home Minister’s statement claiming farmers are receiving 3.5 times the MSP and demanded a legal guarantee for MSP, asking, “If the government is already paying above MSP, why resist legal assurances?”

Dallewal also accentuated declining farmer incomes despite increased agricultural activity and pointed out procurement challenges during this paddy season.
