Gurugram, July 11: A violent midnight confrontation in Sushant Lok Phase-2 resulted in the deaths of four alleged syndicate shooters after they engaged in a heavy exchange of fire with law enforcement. The Gurugram Police Crime Branch intercepted the gang members as they targetted the residence of a prominent local businessman over a massive financial extortion demand. A fifth gang member survived the encounter with bullet wounds, while three police personnel also suffered injuries during the operation.
The criminal squad arrived at the scene in a rented black Scorpio SUV and immediately unleashed a volley of bullets at the businessman’s home. A Crime Branch team, already tracking the vehicle following a high-priority control room alert, closed in on the suspects while the assault was actively underway. Rather than surrendering to the surrounding forces, the criminals chose to open fire directly on the officers, initiating a chaotic gunfight.
Sources close to the investigation stated that the two sides exchanged nearly 65 rounds before the threat was neutralized. All five suspects sustained severe injuries and were rushed to a nearby medical facility, where doctors subsequently declared four of them dead upon arrival.
“The gang members opened fire on the team instead of surrendering,” an official investigator asserted while describing the rapid escalation. Law enforcement officers recovered five automatic pistols from the bloody scene, a cache that included three sophisticated, foreign-made weapons.
Among the deceased gang members was Aryan, a Class XI student and competitive javelin thrower from Baland village in Rohtak district, who also worked as a bike mechanic. Investigators maintained that the youth had been freshly inducted into the notorious Deepak Nandal gang, an outfit known to be operated from overseas. The local recruitment web ran deep, as two other slain shooters, Nitin and Ankit, belonged to the exact same Rohtak village, while the fourth deceased criminal came from the Fatehabad district of Haryana. The sole surviving shooter, Shivam, a resident of Bissar village in Mewat, remains under heavy armed guard at the hospital while the three wounded Crime Branch personnel continue to recover in stable condition.
