Hoax Threat Email Targets CRPF Schools in Delhi, Telangana

New Delhi, October 22, 2024 — The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) received a hoax email on Monday night claiming that improvised explosives would target its three schools in Delhi and Telangana.

Official sources confirmed on Tuesday that the schools—located in Rohini and Dwarka in Delhi, and Medchal near Hyderabad—are safe and operating normally.

The suspicious email alleged that explosives could detonate at the three school locations by 11 a.m. on Tuesday. In response, security personnel conducted anti-sabotage checks but found no evidence of any threat. “The three CRPF schools are functioning normally, and there is no cause for concern,” sources stated.

This threat follows a recent blast near the Central Reserve Police Force school in the Prashant Vihar area of Rohini, which occurred on Sunday morning.

Security and intelligence agencies are currently investigating potential links to Khalistani supporters regarding that incident.

Additionally, probe agencies are looking into the origin and authorship of the hoax email, which references political events in Tamil Nadu. The CRPF, India’s largest paramilitary force, operates schools as part of its commitment to the families of personnel deployed in critical anti-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations across the country.
