The high-profile visit underscores the intensifying strategic alignment between the two major Asian democracies as they prepare to review bilateral cooperation. During the official reception, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced his cabinet colleagues and key dignitaries to the visiting leader to mark the start of the diplomatic engagements.
The bilateral talks are expected to center on regional security and economic cooperation, with the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit serving as the centerpiece of the itinerary. Prime Minister Modi expressed immense satisfaction regarding the visit, noting the immense potential of the upcoming dialogue.

The initial reception began late Wednesday evening when Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, greeted the Japanese leader at the Palam Technical Airport on behalf of the Indian government.
