Chandigarh, October 16, 2024: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Punjab Government’s Department of Housing and Urban Development issued clearance certificates to 51 real estate developers during a camp organized at Punjab Bhawan to promote transparency and efficiency, provide developers with necessary documents, including colony licenses, completion certificates, zoning plans, and building plans.

Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundia, along with Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha, led the inventiveness by handing over the clearances to developers and builders.

Mundia pointed the government’s commitment to resolving real estate-related issues in a timely and transparent manner and announced that a second camp will be held in November to continue processing pending matters.

“We are focused on prioritizing the work of developers with complete transparency. An email, transparency.hud@gmail.com, has been set up for people to report any grievances directly,” Mundia added.

Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha raised the importance of addressing backlogs, stating, “The state government is taking serious steps to ensure that no work remains pending unnecessarily. This camp is part of our larger commitment to streamline services and provide real-time solutions for developers.”

Rahul Tiwari, Housing and Urban Development Secretary, noted that this initiative follows Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s directives to expedite pending real estate projects. Jagjit Singh of the Confederation of Real Estate welcomed the move, expressing gratitude to the government for organizing the camp and addressing long-standing concerns.

Certificates were handed over during the camp, and participants provided immediate feedback on any procedural difficulties. The event was managed by Special Secretary Apneet Riyat, ensuring smooth operations throughout the day.
