Mandi, November 14, 2024: The Mata Shikhari temple in Mandi district will shut its doors to pilgrims starting November 15 as heavy snowfall is expected in the region. The administration has decided to close access to the temple due to potential travel hazards posed by severe weather in the high-altitude areas.

The decision was made during a meeting chaired by SDM Thunag, Ramesh Kumar. “Snowfall is likely in November and December, which could make the journey to the temple dangerous,” SDM Kumar said, adding that the closure is a safety measure for pilgrims.

In case of emergencies, devotees are advised to contact the Janjeli Police Station at 01907-256740 for assistance. The meeting was attended by members of the Shikhari Mata Mandir Committee, including Gulzari Lal, Dewan Kamalchand, Narendra, Tilak, Mohan Singh, Hari Singh, and Inder Singh.
