New Delhi, July 21: Congress leaders have moved parliamentary notices demanding the immediate suspension of scheduled business to address widespread paper leaks, evaluation errors, and security force actions against protesting students. Lok Sabha Member K C Venugopal submitted an adjournment motion highlighting reports of 152 distinct paper leak instances across competitive examinations, including the NEET framework. The notice urges Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to present an official statement explaining the persistent administrative breakdowns and the absence of direct enforcement against key offenders.
Simultaneously, MP Manickam Tagore called for dedicated time in the Lower House to examine force used by Delhi Police and Railway Protection Force personnel during student demonstrations near Parliament. Pointing to the shutdown of mobile internet services around the parliamentary area, Tagore requested a comprehensive government inquiry into security operations, official justifications for digital blackouts, and accountability for excessive force against peaceful demonstrators.
In the Upper House, Rajya Sabha Member Syed Naseer Hussain submitted a notice under Rule 267 focusing on institutional vulnerabilities within the national examination system.
“The House may discuss the cancellation of NEET-UG 2026, recurring failures in recruitment examinations, and the resulting loss of public confidence in the integrity of examinations,” Syed Naseer Hussain declared. “These developments have caused immense hardship and psychological distress to students across the country.”
Hussain further cited operational flaws in the CBSE On-Screen Marking system, maintaining that repeated testing disruptions continue to severely undermine public trust in national educational institutions.
