Chandigarh, Nov 7: The post-mortem examination of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota was completed at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh on Saturday afternoon, twenty-five days after his passing in Mansa.
Action committee representatives maintained that the family intends to transport the body to Mansa on Sunday morning for the final rites, noting that any adjustments to the schedule would be communicated directly to the public.
Officials confirmed that the autopsy proceeded after consensus was reached to transfer the body to the tertiary healthcare institution late Thursday night, resolving a prolonged administrative impasse surrounding the case.
Action committee members affirmed that local authorities and representatives have coordinated security and logistics arrangements for the cremation ceremony planned at the family’s property along Chakerian Road.
Family members maintained that health monitoring continues for Jhota’s father, Bhim Singh, who accompanied the remains to Chandigarh while advocating for administrative measures related to the investigation.
