New Delhi, July 27: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi will lead the Ministry of Education following the departure of Dharmendra Pradhan, expanding his administrative duties within the Union Council of Ministers.
The shift in portfolio comes after Rashtrapati Bhavan confirmed that President Droupadi Murmu accepted Mr. Pradhan’s resignation from his cabinet post with immediate effect.
“The President has directed that Cabinet Minister Pralhad Joshi be assigned the charge of the Ministry of Education alongside his existing responsibilities,” declared the official statement from Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Mr. Joshi currently maintains dual ministerial roles as the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, as well as New and Renewable Energy.
The leadership change ensures continuity in ministry oversight, with the additional charge taking effect immediately following executive approvals.
