Chandigarh, June 14: A tragic street assault in Southall, London, resulted in the death of 26-year-old Gurbhej Singh, an Indian-origin man originally from the Tarn Taran district of Punjab. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the incident late Saturday evening, noting that the attack took place earlier in the week on North Road, near the junction with Dormers Wells Lane. Emergency services attempted to save Singh at the scene, but he ultimately succumbed to deep stab wounds. Another individual, whose identity remains withheld by authorities, sustained critical injuries during the same encounter and is currently receiving medical care in a local hospital.
The investigation into the violent incident is actively progressing, with London police registering a case and looking into all potential variables. Investigators stated that it remains uncertain whether the assault was driven by racial motives or occurred as a random act of violence. Law enforcement officials have arrested seven men in connection with the fatal stabbing. Among those detained, six individuals were released without charge, whereas one suspect remains out on bail as detectives continue their search for answers.
