New Delhi, August 1: A fifteen-year-old girl has issued a public apology after appearing in a viral video using derogatory language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The teenager maintained that she was influenced by others during a visit to Connaught Place in July and expressed deep shame over her actions. Her apology followed legal developments, including the transfer of a Zero FIR from Noida to Delhi, where local authorities are reviewing the case. Addressing the matter in a video message, Prime Minister Modi reflected on the offensive remarks aimed at him and his late mother at the Jantar Mantar protest, asserting that misguided youth ought to be forgiven and directed toward the right path.
The youth explained the circumstances surrounding the recording, stating, “I went to Connaught Place with my friends in July. We came across a group of people who were using abusive and objectionable language against the Prime Minister. They influenced me and encouraged me to repeat those words, and I did.” Seeking a second chance from the public, she affirmed, “I am not able to look anyone in the eye. I appeal to the entire country and everyone to please forgive me. I am only 15 years old. This is my first and last mistake, and I will never repeat such an act again.”
The investigation began after Delhi Police registered an FIR at the Special Cell Police Station regarding the online dissemination of the material. Law enforcement authorities issued notices to the social media platform X to remove the clip while taking steps to preserve electronic records relevant to the inquiry. Senior officials noted that Delhi Police are carefully examining the contents of the transferred FIR before determining subsequent procedures.
