Mumbai, Sept 20: Three persons lost their lives and another sustained critical injuries after a speeding luxury vehicle crashed on the Coastal Road in Mumbai early Sunday morning, police officials stated.
The incident took place around 5:20 AM as the vehicle was travelling from Marine Drive toward Haji Ali. According to the Coastal Road Control Room, the driver lost control of the wheels near Lotus Jetty, located opposite Lala Lajpatrai College.
Following the crash, emergency services rushed all four occupants to the nearby civic-run Nair Hospital, where medical staff declared three of them dead. Officials identified two of the deceased as Shanay Gajjal, aged 21, and Dhirya Seth, aged 17. A third male victim, believed to be around 25 years old, remains unidentified.
The fourth occupant, an unidentified male aged around 20, suffered severe injuries and remains under intensive medical care in the hospital’s trauma ward. Local police have initiated a formal inquiry to ascertain the cause of the accident along the 10.58-km high-speed freeway connecting south Mumbai to the Bandra–Worli Sea Link.
