NEW DELHI/LUCKNOW, AUGUST 19: Uttar Pradesh’s industrial footprint is set for a major expansion as state leadership prepares to meet Japanese corporate executives at the UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026 at Taj Palace in New Delhi. The session will focus on deepening economic collaboration across key high-tech and manufacturing sectors.
A delegation of over 200 Japanese business leaders, led by Yamanashi Prefecture Governor Kotaro Nagasaki, is attending the event. State leadership and union ministers will outline investment avenues across green hydrogen, semiconductors, electric mobility, automotive components, and digital infrastructure.
A primary highlight of the meet is the virtual ground-breaking ceremony for manufacturing projects totaling ₹3,191 crore. Escorts Kubota is setting up a ₹2,025 crore facility in Sector-10 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region, projected to generate over 3,800 jobs. Additionally, Minda Corporation has slated ₹1,166 crore across two projects in Sector-10 and Sector-24, creating roughly 6,440 job opportunities.
State representatives will also outline plans for a proposed 500-acre “Japan City” within the YEIDA cluster. Designed as an integrated industrial hub, the enclave aims to host Japanese firms, suppliers, and ancillary units to streamline supply-chain logistics and accelerate local technology transfer.
The investment meet includes specialized discussions on green transformation, technology innovation, and financial partnerships, supporting Uttar Pradesh’s overarching roadmap toward a one-trillion-dollar economy.
