Faridkot, Sept 21: A 30-year-old woman lost her life after being allegedly attacked by her husband at Koharwala village in Faridkot district on Saturday night. The deceased, identified as Sarabjit Kaur, had sought refuge at a neighbor’s house following a domestic dispute when the fatal assault took place.
Preliminary inquiries conducted by the police revealed that the couple experienced frequent disputes linked to the husband’s alleged alcohol addiction and domestic violence. On the night of the incident, an argument escalated, prompting the victim to flee her home and take shelter in a nearby house to protect herself.
Police officials stated that the suspect entered the neighboring premises by scaling the roof and attacked Sarabjit Kaur using a sharp-edged weapon. The victim sustained grave injuries and died on the spot before assistance could arrive.
A police team reached the location shortly after receiving information about the incident, cordoned off the crime scene, and sent the body for a post-mortem examination. Law enforcement authorities confirmed that formal legal proceedings and further investigation into the case have been initiated.
