Bathinda, AUGUST 19: A viral video depicting a youngster being violently beaten with an iron rod in Tungrali village, located within Bathinda’s Talwandi Sabo sub-division, triggered widespread concern and political sharp reactions across the state.
The video recorded the half-naked victim held down by several individuals while another assailant repeatedly struck him with a metal rod. Talwandi Sabo Deputy Superintendent of Police Jasjot Singh confirmed that the assault occurred on Monday, identifying the victim as Satveer, who remains hospitalized for injuries sustained during the attack.
The DSP stated that law enforcement officers are recording the victim’s formal statement to initiate appropriate legal proceedings against the perpetrators. He added that preliminary inquiries indicate the violent confrontation stems from an ongoing personal feud between two local families.
Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia shared the viral footage on social media, criticizing the state administration over local law enforcement standards. The opposition leader maintained that the victim suffered fractures to both legs during the assault, demanding strict and immediate action against all suspects involved in the incident.
