New Delhi, April 29 — In the wake of the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people, senior officials from India’s top security agencies are holding a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs in the national capital, officials confirmed Monday.
Present at the closed-door session are Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan; Director Generals of the Border Security Force (BSF), Assam Rifles, and the National Security Guard (NSG); along with senior officers from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
The meeting comes amid heightened security concerns following the Pahalgam incident, which targeted civilians and sent shockwaves across the Valley and beyond.
Simultaneously, intense counter-terror operations are underway across multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir.
While authorities have not disclosed the exact locations or scale of the actions, sources familiar with the situation told ANI that several suspected militant hideouts are under active surveillance and engagement.
“No specific details are being shared at this point due to the sensitive nature of the operations,” one official source said, adding that intelligence inputs are being assessed in real time.
The Pahalgam attack has triggered a wide-ranging security response, with both the armed forces and intelligence agencies working to trace the perpetrators and preempt any further threats.
