AUCKLAND, May 21: Renowned Punjabi folk and spiritual singer Lakhwinder Wadali arrived at Auckland Airport today to kick off his much-anticipated New Zealand Tour 2025. The singer, known for his soulful voice and deep-rooted Sufi tradition, was greeted warmly by fans and members of the Punjabi diaspora.
Wadali’s three-city tour will commence tomorrow, May 22, with a performance at the Christchurch Town Hall. He will then head to Auckland for a second concert at the Dual Drop Event Centre on May 24, followed by the final show at the Sir Howard Morrison Centre in Rotorua on May 25.
All the tickets have already been sold out for every show,” said the tour organizer. “The response from the Punjabi community has been overwhelming.”
“I am here to connect with overseas Punjabis through the music of our soil—songs of love, devotion, and culture,” Wadali told fans upon arrival.
Lakhwinder Wadali hails from the celebrated Wadali musical family and is the son of Padma Shri awardee Puran Chand Wadali. Carrying forward a legacy of spiritual music, his performances blend classical traditions with contemporary folk expression.
His tour has generated significant excitement among New Zealand’s Punjabi community, with tickets for all three shows selling quickly.
