Chandigarh, September 5: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s health reportedly deteriorated on Friday, prompting officials to rush him to Fortis Hospital in Mohali. Mann, accompanied by his wife Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann, has been admitted to the isolation ICU for further treatment.
As a result, the Cabinet meeting scheduled for Thursday was cancelled. While the state government has not provided an official reason, sources suggest the cancellation is linked to the CM’s high-grade fever.
Mann’s illness also prevented him from joining AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on his visit to flood-affected areas in the state earlier this week.
A senior official noted, “The Chief Minister is under observation, and the medical team is closely monitoring his condition.” Further updates on his health are awaited.
The state administration has not indicated when the CM will resume official duties, and the situation remains fluid.
