Lucknow, November 2: The Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath continues to enhance educational infrastructure and vocational self-reliance programs tailored for children with disabilities across the state.
At present, 1,464 students are enrolled across 21 specialized government institutions designed around distinct learning requirements. These comprise four targeted categories: ‘Prayas’ for boys with physical disabilities, ‘Sanket’ for deaf and mute students, ‘Mamta’ for children with intellectual disabilities, and ‘Sparsh’ for visually impaired students.
Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Director Rajesh Kumar Singh declared that 16 of the 21 state-run special schools have earned ISO certifications for campus management and academic standards. Smart classrooms and modern educational technology have been introduced to ensure equitable learning up to the secondary level.
State authorities maintained that combining modern teaching aids with specialized curricula equips students with essential skills, fostering personal confidence and facilitating integration into mainstream education and employment pathways.
