Anandpur Sahib/Chandigarh, November 24, 2025 — The Punjab government has rolled out large-scale medical services for devotees gathered in Anandpur Sahib for the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, with officials saying thousands have already benefitted from free examinations and treatment.

State Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh inspected the facilities on Sunday, noting that the administration had deployed significant medical staffing and equipment to handle the heavy footfall. “These medical services reflect the government’s commitment to the well-being of every citizen visiting Anandpur Sahib,” he said, praising the ongoing arrangements.

According to officials, the special eye camp, titled Nigha Langar, has screened more than 5,000 people so far. Of them, around 2,000 have been provided free spectacles, while 39 patients have undergone cataract surgery at no cost. Authorities described the response as evidence of substantial demand for accessible care.

The state also opened 39 Aam Aadmi Clinics across the town to offer free consultations, medicines and diagnostics. On Sunday alone, 1,822 patients reportedly received treatment at the clinics, and another 174 underwent laboratory tests. Officials noted that services are operating uninterrupted around the clock.

Emergency and critical care services have been strengthened in Anandpur Sahib, Kiratpur Sahib and Ropar to respond to medical crises related to the gathering. The Health Department confirmed that 31 ambulances — including 24 basic and seven advanced life support vehicles — have been stationed in the area.

Blood donation camps have also been set up at designated event sites, where devotees are volunteering. Dr. Singh said the efforts reinforce the state’s message of collective responsibility and community service. “Humanity is at the core of this event, and our goal is to serve,” he added.

Authorities have released helpline number 98155-88342 for any urgent medical assistance.
