Hoshiarpur, January 10: Four men were killed and one sustained injuries after their car collided with a Punjab Roadways bus on the Hoshiarpur–Dasuya road on Saturday morning, police said, attributing the crash to poor visibility caused by dense fog.

The deceased have been identified as Sukhwinder, Sushil Kumar, Brij Kumar and Arun Kumar, all residents of Chalet village in Himachal Pradesh. The injured, Amit Kumar, also from the same village, was admitted to the Civil Hospital in Hoshiarpur.

According to the police, the accident took place near Dosarka when the car, travelling towards Amritsar, rammed into the bus.

“As the car reached near Dosarka, the driver could not notice the bus ahead due to dense fog, which resulted in the collision,” said Sub-Inspector Kiran Singh, Station House Officer of Hariana police station.

The impact left the car badly damaged, killing four occupants on the spot. Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
