Ludhiana, Jan 23: Punjab is set to bolster its metallurgical landscape following a proposal for a ₹1,003.57 crore greenfield investment in the special steel sector. AISRM Multimetals Private Limited, a subsidiary of the Arora Iron Group, plans to establish this advanced manufacturing plant at Village Jaspallon on the Doraha–Khanna Road in Ludhiana district.

The project is slated to occupy 46 acres and is expected to create jobs for more than 920 individuals. Construction and implementation are organized into three distinct stages, with the initial phase scheduled to begin operations by September 2027. Once fully functional, the unit will produce 5.40 lakh metric tonnes per annum of specialized products including wire rods, round bars, coils, and flats.

Industries and Commerce Minister Sanjeev Arora noted that the facility will utilize scrap and ferro alloys to manufacture high-grade materials. The plant is designed for high-capacity output, operating three shifts for approximately 350 days each year. To ensure precision, the site will integrate sophisticated technologies such as Electric Arc Furnaces, Vacuum Degassing, and Continuous Casting Machines.

“The proposed investment will significantly strengthen Punjab’s alloy and special steel ecosystem, especially for the automobile and automotive components sector, where demand for high-grade steel is steadily rising,” Sanjeev Arora said. He further mentioned that the development solidifies Ludhiana’s status as a premier industrial center for Northern India.

The Minister also pointed out that the project reflects the broader goals of the administration to foster sustainable manufacturing and value addition. He credited the current political environment for these industrial gains.

“Under the dynamic leadership of our National Convener Arvind Kejriwal and CM Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab will soon be the best investment destination of the country,” Sanjeev Arora said.
