New Delhi/Chandigarh, Jan 26: The 350th year of Guru Tegh Bahadur’s martyrdom was commemorated through Punjab’s participation in the Republic Day Parade. The tableau served as a moving tribute to the ninth Guru’s life and his enduring stand for religious liberty. By focusing on the historical site of Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib, the display brought to life the narrative of a martyrdom that continues to inspire the nation.
Spectators witnessed a detailed representation of Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib at the end of the trailer, which stands at the exact location of the Guru’s sacrifice. The tableau sought to honor a legacy that transcends specific religious boundaries. “This presentation commemorates the 350th year of his martyrdom and pays tribute to the Guru as a protector of human conscience and freedom,” a spokesperson said.
The design utilized revolving elements and traditional music to engage the crowd. The front of the display featured “Ek Onkar” in a revolving form, signifying the eternal truth of Sikh philosophy. The trailer also showcased a spiritual setting where the sounds of Shabad Kirtan resonated, mirroring the daily practices held at the sacred sites in Delhi.
Accompanying the central figures were depictions of Bhai Dyala, Bhai Sati Dass, and Bhai Mati Dass. These panels represented the unwavering courage of the Guru’s followers who stood by him. Every element, from the “Hind Di Chadar” inscription to the spiritual aura of the tractor portion, was intended to convey a message of protection for the oppressed and the universal need for righteousness.
