Bathinda, Feb 11: Bathinda police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a young woman’s body stuffed inside a red suitcase in a vacant lot near Bahman Diwana village. The grim discovery was made on Wednesday by a local passerby who noticed stray dogs attempting to pull the luggage away and immediately alerted the authorities.

Upon arriving at the scene, police officers opened the suitcase to find the remains of a woman estimated to be in her 20s. Forensic experts noted that the condition of the body suggests she was murdered elsewhere before being dumped in the remote location. While her exact identity remains unknown, investigators found a tattoo with the name “Kaku” on the body, which is now being treated as a vital clue in the case.

“The killer stuffed the body into the suitcase and dumped it,” an official mentioned during the preliminary inspection of the site. He noted that the entire area has been sealed off to preserve potential evidence, and the police are currently scanning records of missing persons from nearby districts to establish a match.

Members of the local social service organization, Sahara Janseva, reached the spot shortly after the police to assist in the recovery. They worked alongside the police team to transport the body to the civil hospital for a post-mortem examination. Authorities mentioned that the medical report will be crucial in determining the exact cause and timing of death, while local teams continue to record statements from residents of Bahman Diwana.
