MOHALI, March 13, 2026 — The Progressive Punjab Investors Summit 2026 commenced on Friday with the state securing over ₹10,000 crore in investment commitments on its opening day. Addressing a gathering of global business leaders, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated that the Punjab government is committed to providing every facility necessary for local industries to compete with international manufacturing hubs, specifically China.
Kejriwal declared that a positive business environment has already attracted ₹1.50 lakh crore in investments over the last four years. He noted that the Bhagwant Mann-led administration has implemented a 45-day single-window clearance system to eliminate bureaucratic delays. According to the AAP leader, if a proposal is not processed within this timeframe, the software automatically grants “deemed approval” on the 46th day.
“Tell us what you need to defeat China and we will provide it to you in Punjab,” Kejriwal asserted, noting that the country should no longer rely on imports for basic goods. He maintained that the government has shifted its focus to human capital, reaching the top rank in the national education sector within three years. He affirmed that the state now offers ₹10 lakh in health insurance to secure the well-being of the workforce.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann affirmed that the summit represents a new era for the state’s economy, focusing on turning youth from job seekers into job creators. He stated that major industry leaders, including Tata Steel, JSW, and the Trident Group, have already announced expansion plans. The Chief Minister declared that the state’s fertile land and hardworking population make it the most favorable destination for long-term industrial growth.
