Detail regarding the actions was shared by Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Manoj Gorsi, who noted that investigative teams are actively tracing both upstream and downstream supply networks connected to the suspects.

In the primary interdiction, a team from CIA-1 intercepted a pickup vehicle near Jethuke village on Monday, leading to the recovery of 4.5 kilograms of opium. The occupants were identified as 33-year-old Gurdeep Singh, hailing from Khokhar village, and 47-year-old Harpal Singh, alias Sonu, a resident of Rampura city. Official records show that Gurdeep Singh was previously booked by the Sangat police in connection with a 10-kilogram poppy husk recovery.

In a parallel operation, officers under the jurisdiction of the Maur police station intercepted a car on Monday, seizing 1.032 kilograms of opium from two occupants. The arrested individuals were named as 24-year-old Ramanpreet Singh, residing in Jogipur village, Patiala district, and 20-year-old Ranveer Singh, alias Rana, from Bhaini Bagha village in Mansa district.

Investigators maintained that Ramanpreet Singh allegedly supplied the contraband to Ranveer Singh. Police noted that Ramanpreet Singh faces a prior charge involving an attempt to murder and claimed to be enrolled at Punjabi University in Patiala, an assertion currently undergoing official verification by law enforcement.
