Chandigarh, March 16: The Punjab Government has issued a call for all state pensioners to submit their Digital Life Certificates through the Jeevan Pramaan portal to ensure their monthly payments continue without interruption. District Treasury Officer Sukhbir Kaur maintained that the state has made this digital submission mandatory for all retired personnel. This transition is intended to provide greater convenience to the elderly and foster transparency within the pension disbursement system, the officer affirmed.

While many individuals continue to submit manual life certificates at their local bank branches, Sukhbir Kaur declared that such physical documents will no longer be accepted under the updated system. Pensioners are encouraged to complete the digital process at their earliest convenience to prevent any delays in their financial support. The administration has provided multiple avenues for submission, including treasury offices, bank branches, and local service centers.

To further assist those with mobility issues, the government has introduced a doorstep service accessible by dialing the helpline 1076. Sukhbir Kaur asserted that through this service, officials visit the homes of pensioners to assist with the digital verification. Alternatively, individuals can use the Jeevan Pramaan mobile application to perform biometric authentication independently.

The digital system is designed to verify the status of pensioners through secure biometric data, ensuring that funds are released smoothly without the necessity of annual physical visits. Authorities asserted that all pensioners must ensure their certificates are successfully uploaded on or before the deadline of March 31. The public is advised not to wait until the final days of the month to avoid any technical or administrative inconvenience.
