Ludhiana, March 28: SPS Hospitals in Ludhiana, in collaboration with the Atlanta Spine Centre, recently concluded a charitable medical initiative providing advanced spinal treatments to patients in financial need.
The program culminated in more than 40 successful spine surgeries performed entirely free of charge, led by prominent American surgeon Dr. Harvinder Singh Bhatti and a specialized local medical team.
The surgical phase followed an extensive diagnostic campaign where 600 individuals underwent medical reviews at various screening sites.
To ensure the services remained accessible, the hospital provided all preliminary investigations at no cost and offered significant subsidies on further diagnostic testing.
Dr. Harvinder Singh Bhatti noted that these camps are an annual commitment for the hospital, aimed at bridging the gap for those who otherwise could not afford specialized neurological care.
“The overwhelming response to the screening camps reflects the growing burden of spine-related disorders in the community,” stated Dr. Devendra Pal Singh, Associate Director of Neuro Surgery.
He affirmed that early detection and timely medical referrals are essential to preventing long-term complications and improving recovery statistics.
Dr. Deepinder Singh, Director of Neuro Surgery, also maintained that the high volume of participants underscores the critical need for regular intervention in spinal health.
The hospital’s leadership declared that the mission of the institution has remained focused on ethical and affordable healthcare since its inception in 2005.
Chief Operating Officer Yogendra Nath Awadhiya asserted that the initiative demonstrates the hospital’s dedication to utilizing modern technology for community service.
Managing Director Jai Singh congratulated the treated patients, stating that the efforts of the medical staff were instrumental in the camp’s success and in restoring the quality of life for dozens of families.
