Chandigarh, May 13: Aman Arora formally took charge as the Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce on Tuesday at Udyog Bhawan in Chandigarh. The minister, who already oversees departments such as Employment Generation and Renewable Energy, stated that his primary objective is to establish Punjab as the top destination for national and international investment.
Arora maintained that the state government is focused on streamlining administrative processes and removing bureaucratic hurdles for business owners. He declared that the administration aims to create a circular economy where industrial growth, clean energy, and vocational training work in tandem to benefit the local population.
“My goal is to make Punjab a model for ‘Ease of Doing Business’ while generating dignified, skill-based employment for our youth,” Arora asserted. He noted that every instance of industrial expansion must result in direct employment opportunities for residents of the state.
Following a warm reception by senior administrative secretaries, Arora held an initial review meeting with department heads. He ordered officials to expedite current industrial projects and increase efforts to attract new capital to the region. He stated that the integration of his various portfolios would allow for a more seamless ecosystem linking governance reform with industrial policy.
