Ludhiana, May 19: The Punjab government organized a specialized seminar focusing on the teachings and philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji at CT University on Monday. The academic convention forms part of an expansive, year-long initiative launched by the state administration to mark the 650th Parkash Purab of the spiritual leader.
Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia attended the event as the guest of honor, using the platform to urge younger generations to challenge prevailing societal imbalances. He stated that systemic inequalities continue to affect essential sectors, particularly the national economy and public education.
To illustrate his concerns regarding uneven financial distribution, the former minister presented data indicating that nearly 40 percent of the country’s wealth is controlled by just 1.5 crore individuals out of a 140-crore population. Conversely, half of the nation’s citizens collectively hold a mere 6 percent of all property assets. He additionally remarked that the domestic educational framework requires comprehensive updates to properly serve contemporary youth.
“Our younger generation must work towards creating an egalitarian society free from all forms of discrimination envisioned by Sri Guru Ravidass Ji,” Sisodia stated.
The visiting official added that the state government is consistently hosting educational events throughout the year to broadcast the spiritual leader’s core messages of universal brotherhood and social justice. He also noted that regional authorities are prioritizing major structural improvements within local healthcare and educational facilities to serve the public better. To conclude his address, Sisodia inaugurated a specialized telephonic communication campaign designed to improve youth engagement across the state.
