New Delhi, May 24: A punishing heatwave continues to sweep across the northern plains, pushing daily life into a standstill as temperatures reach extreme highs. Weather officials confirmed that Banda emerged as the hottest location in the region, recording a maximum temperature of 48 degrees Celsius. In the national capital, the Ridge monitoring station documented a high of 45.8 degrees Celsius, marking it as the most severely affected area within the city limits.
Meteorological experts asserted that a combination of warm, dry winds and prolonged solar exposure has amplified the current weather pattern. Health authorities have issued advisories recommending minimal outdoor exposure during peak afternoon hours to prevent heat stress and dehydration. Regional administrative bodies affirmed that cooling centers and drinking water stations are being set up to assist commuters and outdoor workers.
