Chandigarh, June 25: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Media In-Charge and State General Secretary Organisation Baltej Pannu stated that opposition parties, specifically the Akali Dal, are circulating manipulated video content because they lack concrete issues to raise against the state government. Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh on Thursday, the party leader maintained that the Congress, BJP, and Akali Dal have unified under a single agenda of targeting Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann due to their inability to counter the current administration’s performance in public welfare and governance.
The state spokesperson declared that the massive public support for the upcoming Maavan-Dheeyan Satkar Yojna has caused significant anxiety among political rivals. He explained that registration for the monthly financial assistance is already underway, with the first consolidated quarterly payment scheduled to reach beneficiaries directly on July 1.
“Whether it is the Congress, Akali Dal or BJP, all of them have only one target: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann,” Baltej Pannu asserted. “They have no agenda for Punjab and no vision for the future; their politics revolves solely around attacking Bhagwant Mann.”
Presenting both the original and edited versions of the footage to reporters, the AAP leader stated that the actual recording took place at Chanarthal village in Fatehgarh Sahib district, where the Chief Minister was interacting with local women regarding the implementation of the welfare scheme. He maintained that the opposition systematically altered this interaction to serve a pre-determined political narrative.
“The opposition has realized that it cannot fight the next election on the basis of development, governance or public welfare,” Pannu declared. “Therefore, it has chosen fake videos and misinformation as its political weapon.”
The party representative concluded by noting that traditional factions have failed to present any viable roadmap for the 2027 state elections and are instead relying heavily on misinformation. He also commented on the federal setup, stating that visiting national leaders from rival parties have consistently failed to address critical matters, including the release of Punjab’s long-withheld administrative funds.
