Mohali, August 1: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced the expansion of the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Yojna during the “Ek Shaam Bhagwan Shiv De Naam” event in Mohali. Starting August 1, the state administration will provide free pilgrimages to major religious sites, including Khatu Shyam Ji, Salasar Ji, Vrindavan Dham, and Rishikesh.
Addressing a public gathering of devotees, the Chief Minister stated that the state government will cover all expenses associated with the journeys. Arrangements will include transportation directly from pilgrims’ residences, along with complete lodging, boarding, and return travel provisions.
“Punjab is a beautiful bouquet where every colour of flower blooms and everyone prospers on this sacred land,” Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann declared. “Punjab has fertile soil where every kind of seed can grow, except the seeds of hatred, because our unity is unshakeable.”
The Chief Minister maintained that public funds are being directed toward welfare programs, citing parallel initiatives such as universal health coverage under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, free domestic electricity, and direct financial transfers for women under the Maavan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna.
He affirmed that attempts by divisive elements to disturb communal harmony will be defeated by the citizens of the state, who continue to observe all cultural and religious occasions collectively.
