Kurukshetra, Haryana, 29 October 2024– An unexpected sighting of two crocodiles in Mustapur village, Kurukshetra, sparked panic among residents on Monday evening.
Local wildlife authorities, along with diver Parhat Singh, conducted a six-hour operation to capture the reptiles after villagers reported the crocodiles in a nearby drain, according to reports.
The incident began when villagers noticed the crocodiles, which reportedly entered from the canal, and shared videos with Singh.
“Though the crocodiles were small, they still posed a danger,” Singh explained, recounting how his team arrived promptly and began the rescue operation around 4 p.m.
After a meticulous search, the team managed to capture the first crocodile within five hours and the second an hour later.
Both animals were safely handed over to the wildlife department and subsequently shifted to a crocodile breeding center.
