Rain Expected in Parts of Punjab

Chandigarh, 29 October 2024: The weather department has forecasted rainfall in parts of Pathankot, Gurdaspur, and Amritsar today, marking a potential shift toward the winter season in Punjab.

Following Diwali, Punjab typically sees a sharp increase in cold, with dense fog settling in from November to January, reducing road visibility and heightening the risk of accidents.

Meanwhile, the ongoing stubble burning across the state has worsened air quality, with pollution levels expected to further decline around Diwali.

In response, the health department has urged residents to take precautions, including wearing masks when outdoors.
