Chandigarh, Oct 30: The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has launched a dedicated WhatsApp helpline—9915762917—to enable city residents to directly report localized civic issues and track timely redressal.
Prioritizing public safety and convenience, municipal authorities urged citizens to report non-functional or damaged streetlights by submitting clear photographs alongside details such as the sector, road name, or nearby landmarks. The structured inputs aim to assist field maintenance crews in identifying faults early and carrying out immediate repairs.
Municipal Commissioner Amit Kumar affirmed that active public participation remains essential for maintaining urban infrastructure across the Union Territory. Officials stated that while streetlight maintenance receives primary focus, residents can also use the messaging platform to flag other municipal grievances requiring administrative intervention.
The corporation maintained that designated desk officers will monitor incoming messages continuously and coordinate across departmental teams. Citizens have been encouraged to utilize the digital channel to ensure municipal concerns are resolved swiftly rather than remaining unattended.
