Chandigarh, August 22: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has issued a formal legal notice to former Director General of Police Mohammad Mustafa, accusing the retired officer of making false, derogatory, and malicious remarks against his political leadership during a recent media appearance.

The legal notice stems from an interview broadcast on a private channel, during which Mustafa publicly targeted Warring’s intellect, competence, and capacity to lead the state party unit. The notice asserts that the remarks went beyond permissible political critique, amounting to a deliberate personal attack designed to damage Warring’s standing among the public and party workers.

Warring demanded that Mustafa immediately retract the statements, render an unconditional public apology across the same media platforms, and remove all circulating video clips of the interview within forty-eight hours, warning that failure to comply would result in formal legal proceedings.

Mustafa, whose wife Razia Sultana previously served as a state cabinet minister, has repeatedly voiced criticism regarding Warring’s leadership style in recent months and publicly called on the Congress central leadership to replace him as state unit chief.

Responding to the notice online, Mustafa refused to back down from his stance regarding the state party leadership.

“I stand by what I said that Warring lacks qualities of a leader,” Mustafa asserted on his social media account.

The legal action highlights escalating internal friction within the state party organization as senior figures continue to dispute the leadership direction.
