DG CRPF appreciates jawans for smooth, safe conduct of Amarnath Yatra

Ganderbal, Sep 8: Director General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Monday reviewed security arrangements at the 118 Battalion CRPF camp at Gund in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal District and commended the force’s role in ensuring the safe and smooth conduct of the Amarnath Yatra 2026.

 

In a statement, a spokesperson of the force said the DG CRPF visited the camp and reviewed the security arrangements.

 

During the visit, the DG appreciated the role of CRPF personnel in ensuring the smooth and safe conduct of the Amarnath Yatra 2026, acknowledging their dedication, vigilance and professional commitment in safeguarding pilgrims and maintaining security in the region.

 

He also conferred Director General’s Discs (DG Discs) and Commendation Certificates on deserving CRPF personnel in recognition of their dedication, operational excellence and outstanding performance during this year’s Yatra.

 

As part of the programme, the DG CRPF held a Sainik Sammelan with the troops and listened to the concerns raised by jawans and officers.

 

He also interacted with them on various welfare and operational issues and offered suggestions to further enhance the operational capabilities of CRPF units deployed in Jammu and Kashmir.

 

He praised the efforts of CRPF personnel on the ground, along with other security forces, for contributing to the considerable decline in terrorist activities in J&K.

 

The spokesperson said the visit underscored CRPF’s focus on operational readiness, personnel welfare and professionalism. The DG exhorted the personnel to remain vigilant and mission-ready while continuing to discharge their duties with discipline and dedication.

 

During the visit, he was accompanied by Rajesh Kumar, ADG, J&K Zone; Gyanendra Kumar Verma, IG, Ops Dte; Vineet Brijlal, IG, Kashmir Ops Sector; Pawan Kumar Sharma, IG, Srinagar Sector CRPF and other senior officers of the force.
