Chandigarh, Sept 15: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann issued a stern warning to organized crime syndicates operating from foreign soil, asserting that no safe havens exist for fugitives attempting to evade justice. The Chief Minister felicitated an Anti-Gangster Task Force delegation, led by SP Bikramjit Singh Brar, for successfully securing the extradition of wanted operative Amritpal Singh alias Amrit Dalam from the Republic of Moldova.
State authorities affirmed that Dalam, a key operative of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria network wanted for murder, weapons, and UAPA charges, represents the tenth fugitive brought back to Punjab since January under the ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ initiative. Department officials noted that international enforcement agencies presented a token of appreciation to the escort team, reflecting growing global cooperation and trust in the operational standards of state police units.
Government figures indicate that state authorities have dismantled 1,234 gangster modules, registered 60,582 cases against drug traffickers, and attached properties valued at ₹366 crore. Mann declared that law enforcement bodies remain equipped with anti-drone systems and supported by 1.5 lakh Village Defence Committee members to maintain public safety and dismantle transnational criminal networks.
