Chandigarh: Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO condemned the recent attempt to damage the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar in Barian Kalan village of Hoshiarpur district, warning that anti-social elements attempting to disrupt communal harmony in the state will face firm legal consequences.
The Minister affirmed that clear directions have been issued to the police administration to conduct an immediate investigation and trace those responsible. He maintained that Dr Ambedkar remains a timeless inspiration as the architect of the Constitution who guaranteed equal rights to every citizen. ETO declared that regardless of their influence or standing, the accused will soon be brought into police custody to face exemplary punishment under the law.
